Lauren Kane brings a wealth of litigation experience to HFM’s Transportation Practice Group. For over a decade, she has represented multi-national businesses, small businesses, and employers and individuals in a wide range of legal matters, including high-stakes civil business litigation, professional liability, and complex personal injury cases.

Her litigation successes include securing favorable dispositive motions, including a successful Anti-SLAPP motion dismissing all claims against the defendant based upon protected speech activity. She also authored the Respondent’s Brief in an appeal of a six-figure discovery sanction award, resulting in affirmance of the award in a published appellate decision in the Fourth District Court of Appeal.

In addition, Ms. Kane represented Plaintiff minority shareholders in shareholder derivative litigation alleging breach of fiduciary duty and violations of the Corporations Code relating to an international telecommunications business. Her work led to a Judgment for the Plaintiff-clients of more than $93,000,000, based on the value of misappropriated corporate property.

Earlier in her career, she served as a Legal Intern for the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, where she earned the State Bar of California Wiley W. Manual Award for Pro Bono Legal Services. Ms. Kane also recently earned the Outstanding Service Award given by the Legal Aid Society of San Diego for providing over 100 hours of pro bono legal services. Ms. Kane earned her law degree, cum laude, from California Western School of Law and previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
